Works-Every-time Flyer

As part of my TECM 5280 Designing Technical Documents coursework, I undertook a flyer redesign project that transformed a disorganized and visually confusing document into a clean, effective communication piece using the Works-Every-Time method.

The original flyer lacked a clear hierarchy and failed to guide the reader’s eye to the most important information, making it difficult for the audience to quickly understand its message. Recognizing these shortcomings, I approached the redesign with a focus on clarity, intention, and visual efficiency.

By establishing a strong central focus point, the redesigned flyer immediately directs the audience’s attention to the core message, eliminating confusion and reducing cognitive load. Principles of minimalism were applied throughout, stripping away unnecessary visual clutter and allowing only the most essential elements to remain. The result was a document that communicates its purpose quickly, cleanly, and confidently.

This project is a compelling demonstration of how thoughtful design can transform weak communication into efficient communication. It reinforced the idea that good design is not simply about aesthetics but about serving the audience and making information as accessible and digestible as possible.

This piece showcases my ability to critically evaluate existing design work, identify structural and visual weaknesses, and apply proven design methodologies to produce a measurably stronger final product.
